Mecha Man suit
The Mecha Man suit refers to three different suits of mechanical armor used by three different generations of heroes, all known as Mecha Man.
First suit
The first Mecha Man suit was built by Robert "Bobby" Robertson I, the very first hero to carry the Mecha Man name, popularly known as Mecha Man Prime. This suit appeared to be much bulkier than its successors and sported a pair of canons on its right forearm.
The suit was destroyed after Bobby gave his life to save civilians from a catastrophe.
Second suit
The second Mecha Man suit was built by Bobby's son, Robert "Robbie" Robertson II. This suit sported a much sleeker design than its predecessor. At some point, Elliot Conners built the Astral Pulse to power the suit, which is how Robbie presumably earned the Mecha Man Astral moniker, though it is unknown what originally powered either suit.
Following Robbie's death at the hands of Elliot, now known as Shroud, the suit was inherited by the third Mecha Man, Robert Robertson III, also known as Mecha Man Blue. The maintenance cost of the suit proved financially ruinous for Robert, who was swiftly driven into poverty. After Shroud escaped from prison, he led Robert into an ambush in the hopes of reclaiming the Astral Pulse and destroyed the suit, though the Astral Pulse was lost.
Details
The controls of the second Mecha Man suit are located in its chest and consist of a series of pullies, levers, and a keyboard. Three monitors allow the pilot the observe the outside world. The pilot can communicate with those outside of the suit by simply speaking, which the suit then emits (presumably through speakers) and deepens, allowing the pilot to mask their voice. It also features a voice-activated computer system capable of performing complex equations. Lastly, Robert can remotely control the suit with a computer built into the gauntlet of his costume.
Feautures
- Jet boosters: A pair of jets located on the back of the suit, allowing for quick bursts of speed and sustained flight.
- Plasma gauntlet: A gauntlet located on the right forearm which can either shoot plasma projectiles or create blades for melee attacks.
- Shield: A round metal shield coming from the forearm of the left gauntlet, which has been shown to withstand electric attacks and prolonged exposure to Flambae's flames.
- Barrier: A spherical barrier that can cover the entire suit to protect it from projectiles.
- Net launcher: The suit can launch a net at its target should the pilor desire to capture them.
Third suit
The third Mecha Man suit was designed by Royd and built with assistance from Robert as payment for Robert working as a dispatcher for the SDN. This suit was built using leftover parts of the second one and incorporated pieces of technology the SDN captured from detained supervillains, making it a direct improvement on its predecessor. Indeed, many of the features present in the second suit are still shown in the third, but noticeably stronger. Instead of a net launcher, for example, this suit fires plasma nets.
Features
- Jet boosters: A pair of jets located on the back of the suit, allowing for quick bursts of speed and sustained flight.
- Plasma gauntlet: The plasma gauntlets are now present on both arms. The blades it creates are noticeably longer than those of the second suit.
- Missile fury: The suit now features a missile system on the back, allowing the pilot to fire a barrage at their target.
- Cluster bombs: The suit carries a supply of cluster bombs on its back.
- Plasma net: An upgraded version of the net launcher. The plasma nets can be destroyed with energy weapons.
- Plasma shield: A triangle-shaped plasma shield that acts as an upgraded version of the shield.
- Plasma sword: A detachable hilt that creates a plasma blade upon activation.
- Grappling hook: A hook connected to a cable shot from the suit's arm.
- Get Over Here: An attack that revolves around using a new grappling hook added to the MKlll Mecha man to pull an enemy into a melee finisher, followed by a powerful punch crackling with electricity, likely connected to Astral Pulse energy.
- Super Spirit Bomb: A combination attack involving a barrage of missiles followed by a large energy beam likely related to Astral Pulse energy.
